Our History
Wally Elliott was born a leader. He developed several passions over the years with success all along the way. One of his passions was football and his love for the game. Coaching came natural to Wally respected his coaching staff, players and opponents. That passion lead his team to numerous championships in the semi-pro football league. Those trophes are still on display at our office.
In the early 80’s Wally Elliott found another passion educating industrial workers on personal protective equipment. Wally started his career working in distribution developing relationships providing solutions to companies all over Chicagoland. Wally married and has three daughters, Katie, Sarah and Bonnie. An opportunity opened up for Wally to become an independent representative for manufacturer’s of personal protective equipment and started his business called “Elliott Sales” in 1989.
Katie Stover (Elliott) started her career learning the business at a very young age. Wally could never take a vacation “with stopping along the way to drop off literature”. Katie would compile those marketing materials for her dad in the car on those road trips and Wally would go work his magic. As the company expanded, Wally needed support in the office with managing the books. Katie began learning the ropes again at a very young age.
The business expanded beyond Illinois and additional support was needed to travel the Midwest USA.
Brian Reidl lived directly next door to Wally and Katie. Wally had great relationships with his neighbors and became family. Wally would ask Brian to ride along on day trips just to have someone to talk to between meetings. In 1996 Wally was seeking additional support in the field. Wally’s wife (Nancy) suggested to Brian as an option. Brian knew the basics of the business as he rode with Wally on several day trips. Brian started working for Wally in April of 1996.
Bob Donnelly who was based in St. Charles, IL also had a Manufacturer Rep Agency called “Summit Sales”. Bob and Wally knew of each other over the years and respected each other’s business. Bob was looking to expand with additional sales reps in the field and both companies merged in 2001 naming the agency “The Elliott Donnelly Group”. After the merge, our agency expanded into the First Responder Market working with dealer partners in the Fire Service and working close with Fire Departments.
Brian Reidl and Katie Stover have been managing the business after the retirements of both Wally and Bob for several years ago.
Our agency represents Fire & Safety products in the Midwest USA with a solid reputation.
